'm professor Kush. Yes you guessed it right, I'm not a real professor. How ever, according to my job title here at Adobe, I really am a scientist... of some sort. And today we will take a look a totally new version of a classic thought experiment: the twins paradox. So suppose a couple of twins, an
d one embarks on a space ship and travels closer to the speed of light and other is left behind on earth and I start dating her. Oh wait this is not the twins paradox I was going to talk about. Actually I want to take a look at the creative suite upgrade twins paradox. Ok, so there are two twins w
ho both see CS4 on the launch pad and Adobe is counting down to launch. Twin "A" buys CS3 right away and starts becoming productive immediately and by the time CS4 is launched, she buys that and goes on to be even more productive. Which is not surprising with all the it's time saving features. Twin
"B" however wants to sit back and wait until CS4 comes out and doesn't get much done until then, but once it is available starts becoming productive. Now which twin is better off? The reason I'm doing this thought experiment is because Dan Flint asked me: Now that Adobe is announcing CS4, and if I
buy CS3 right away, what will happen? Well Dan, after asking around and digging through some Adobe upgrade policy documents, it turns out that there is a possibility that you might even be eligible for a free upgrade! There are however a number of terms and conditions that apply, for example you mu
st have bought it after Adobe officially announced CS4 and within a certain time period. In the past it was usually about 30 days but I can't confirm that until CS4 is actually announced. Plus you have to get the same platform and language and edition as your CS3 and the license has to be a certain
type so I strongly suggest you contact our customer service for the exact details and to see if you qualify for the free upgrade. If you don't qualify or if your request was denied for what ever reason, you can always get a paid upgrade which is still cheaper than buying CS4 from scratch. Again, jus
t to make sure contact Adobe Customer Service and ask if you qualify for a post announce upgrade. So hope that clears thing out and as for our twins, they were both worse off than the triplet who met the criteria to get the free upgrade! The count down to CS4 continues, i hope you are as excited
